IT Assistant

We seek candidates with excellent communication skills for driving and applying IT best practices in collaboration with the IT Management of Solarelle Insurance.

JOB SUMMARY

The IT Assistant is responsible for developing a deep knowledge of field, core policies, workflows, IT operations alongside the best contemporary practices in IT.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervisory:
• Assists the IT department with managing IT services, including user support, equipment management, handling issues and reporting issues.
• Monitor priorities and schedules as needed to ensure work is performed in a timely and efficient manner according to appropriate guidelines, procedures, and regulations laid in the IT Policies of the company
• Assist with general IT administrative duties, including, user support, device management, task management, procurements and ensuring record keeping.

Functional:
• Install, upgrade, and configure hardware and software systems (Windows OS, Microsoft Office, core business applications).
• Respond to and resolve software and hardware incidents; escalate and coordinate with relevant teams when necessary.
• Diagnose and repair hardware failures (desktops, laptops).
• Monitor, support, and troubleshoot IT infrastructure issues including LAN and VPN connectivity.
• Support antivirus management and ensure systems are up to date.
• Maintain accurate IT documentation including incident logs and governance records.
• Act as a technical resource for user inquiries and IT-related issues.
• Manage and apply timely updates for system patches and SSL certificates.
• Monitor and maintain company data backups and ensure data integrity.
• Enforce security protocols including access controls and scheduled backups.
• Ensure timely renewal of IT services and licenses.
• Collaborate on IT initiatives and contribute to project execution

REQUIREMENTS :
– Diploma in Information Technology, with a focus on IT Infrastructure, Networking, or Hardware.
– 1–2 years of experience in IT support or helpdesk operations (internship experience considered)
– Communication skills: Being able to communicate effectively with superiors, employees, and other stakeholders.
– Problem-solving skills: Being able to identify, learn and resolve issues.
– Interpersonal skills: Being able to engage and manage tasks in productive ways.
– Teamwork skills: Being able to work well with others and collaborate to achieve goals.
– Customer focus: Being able to focus on the needs of the customer and provide excellent service (internal and external customers)
